Edan Ogboni refers to a pair of bronze figurines used in the rituals of the Ogboni cult, an ancient secret society in Nigeria and Benin. These rods are connected by a chain and are often adorned with figures and symbols that represent the principles and beliefs of the society. According to tradition, the Edan Ogboni figurines represent the first human beings created by the supreme god and are used in rituals to invoke ancestral and spiritual power. They are also believed to protect their bearers from harm and danger. The use and possession of Edan Ogboni figurines are reserved exclusively for high-ranking members of the Ogboni society and, on occasion, as components of Orisa Osun.
They measure approximately 2"- 8" in length. They are originally made in Nigeria.
