Collection: Olofi

In the Yoruba religion there is a supreme God, who was responsible for the creation of all living beings and the entire universe, whom only a few will be able to know and who will help guide our lives.

In this belief, Olodumare is named as the supreme God, but Olofin becomes a representation of him, who only visits the world infrequently and plays a fundamental role.

  1. He is the “Owner of the palace,” referring to the fact that heaven is his home and where all the orishas become an important part of his family.
  2. Not everyone can maintain direct contact with him, as it is only permitted to Ifá priests or Babalawos; however, you can address him, but you will not be able to know his secrets.
  3. He is considered the divine and absolute incarnation of the creation of the universe, and he is also in charge of governing the Orishas in their missions and relationships with human beings on earth.
  4. Olofin was the one who allowed the Orisha Orula to come to earth to minister to his followers and protect them from all the evils and negative energies that could disturb his followers.
  5. He is the only way you can communicate with Olodumare, as he belongs to his trinity and is responsible for receiving all the messages that human beings have for him.
  6. The Babalawos or Ifá priests must keep their distance to safeguard Olofin's secrets.
  7. His color is Ivory White.
  8. His number in the Rule of Osha - Ifa is #16.
  9. For Olofin, the ideal offerings are the following: Alcohol.
    • Tobacco.
    • A broken coconut divided into 9 pieces, symbolizing the non-living, i.e., the spirits.
    • Place coffee and pepper at the back of your house, it's important that it's not inside.
    • You must make a figure and place its offerings or elements.
    • If you are going to make an animal sacrifice, place it inside a circle of coffee and pepper.
    • Before placing the animal, you must put raw meat or any unsalted food in the spot.
    • Place a glass of water with rum and tobacco.
    • Respect his colors, which are white, yellow, and red.
